LUC Outreach Foundation partnered with Holy Names High School (HNHS)in Bela Bela, Lesotho, to improve living conditions and teaching facilities. 62 volunteers, mostly rowers, friends and family members associated with Lake Union Crew in Seattle, traveled to Lesotho throughout the 11 week construction period. Volunteers and HNHS students worked side by side to build many things - the largest of which was Ntja-Peli Hall, a 4,000 sq ft multi-purpose building.

The name Ntja-Peli (pronounced int-ja-pay-dee) means Two Dogs. Our Lesotho friends translated it to, "It is very easy for two dogs to defeat the monster", which is a metaphor for the benefits of cooperation toward a common goal.
