Whether you want to work close to home or volunteer abroad, you'll find it at LUC Outreach Foundation.
In general our volunteers do not need special skills as they will be working with professionals and experienced members of the team. The only requirement is the desire and ability to let us borrow your skills, time and expertise.
The rewards are greater than you can imagine, and so is the workload, especially with our international programs. It is a mix of long hours, heavy work, fun, joy and companionship. While you’re on site you are working side by side with the local people 10+ hours a day, everyday, building both the physical structure that is needed and a set of new skills & friendships.
Another way to get involved is to donate to the project of your interest. You can sponsor a rower from our local program or donate a window to our Bag of Nails program. Click here for more donor opportunities.
Local Service Work
Volunteering at Northwest Harvest
LUC Outreach Foundation sponsors bi-monthly service work. Most recently we partnered with NW Harvest to package nearly 15 tons of food that will be distributed to food banks, hot meal programs and school lunch programs around Washington state. Visit the Local Service Projects page for more information
Volunteers Knit Helping Hats
Volunteers are knitting and selling hats, proceeds from which will go toward funding the HIV/AIDS education and treatment center (Monyetla Centre) established in Lesotho in 2010.
For more information, click here for hat info, or contact Ann Wunderlin.
International Volunteerism
Lake Union Crew Outreach Foundation is blessed with a wealth of building knowledge and members, friends and families with a wonderful spirit and almost boundless energy to turn that knowledge into needed structures for communities lacking resources. Once a year we partner with a community, working side by side to build buildings, relationships, and character, learn from each other all along the way. The result - all come away from the experience richer on every level.
For more details about specific projects, please visit the respective project pages linked in the sidebar.
